Thanks for your question. It's not necessarily a need to go out and purchase the most expensive equipment as manufactures will push on you. If you live near a golfsmith, dicks or golf store have them look at your swing in their fitting booth (height, size of hands for grip, swing speed) so you are fit according to your measurements.
You shouldn't spend more than 5 to 600 dollars for a complete set. Certain things like driver and your putter should be decided on after you've tried a variety that fit your personal preference. What city and state do you reside in? Thanks JJ
